Welcome to the twelfth post in a monthly series that summarises the happenings in the world of Nightwatch and helps you test better.
Thank you to all our users. It has been a really great year! We did some big releases and have been regularly posting content on different platforms trying to improve how people build software. We’re going to be continuing to do this over 2024.
NEW FEATURES AND RELEASES
The NightwatchJS team has started work on planning its future roadmap so there aren’t a lot of new features as we work towards that, however…
NightwatchJS V3.3.8
Since the last newsletter we have done a number of patch releases.
Node.js 20+ Improvements
One of the major items that we have fixed was an issue with Node.js 20 that would lead to Nightwatch hanging for 4+ minutes when tests completed. Make sure that you update to the latest version.
AstroJS
We have added Nightwatch to the testing page of AstroJS. When David was in Berlin for TestJS Summit at the end of last year he was able to talk to the ReactJS speakers about how they test. Most projects were shocked by the term “testing” but AstroJS weren’t and they want people to test properly. We’ve added Nightwatch details on how to test to the testing section of their site.
Supporting Selenium and Nightwatch
Yesterday, David posted on the Selenium blog about the how there is a constant amount of click bait articles that are normally full of inaccurate information. As Nightwatch users I would love to hear about the amazing things that you’re doing with Nightwatch so we can share them around. Let’s see how we can support the community. Join our Discord and message David and we can start sharing them.
Finally…
We have done a number of significant updates and releases across the various projects we manage. Make sure you update to the latest versions! We have a number of great features coming over the next month.
